Teams rarely struggle because people don't understand what good teamwork looks like.
What gets in the way is often harder to see: established dynamics, unspoken assumptions, competing priorities, avoided conversations, patterns of influence and the behaviours that emerge when pressure rises.
The Team Shift helps teams see their system more clearly, have the conversations that matter and change the way they work together.

Every team needs a mirror.
It is difficult to understand a team system when you are part of it.
We help teams step outside their day-to-day experience and see more clearly what is happening between them: how they communicate, where trust strengthens or breaks down, how decisions are made, what remains unsaid and which patterns are helping or hindering performance.
The facilitator's role is not to arrive with the answers. It is to bring the psychology, structure and challenge that allow the team to understand itself more clearly — and take responsibility for what happens next.
The team is the problem - and the solution.
A team intervention built around your reality.
01 — DIAGNOSE
Create an evidence-based picture of the team.
We use a credible team diagnostic to identify strengths, tensions and dynamics that warrant deeper exploration.
02 — UNDERSTAND
Hear what the data can't tell us.
Confidential individual conversations help us understand how the team is experienced from within — including the relationships, pressures and issues that may be difficult to surface collectively.
03 — SHIFT
Work with what is happening.
The diagnostic and conversations shape a customised two-day intervention. There is no standard agenda: we create the conditions for the team to examine its dynamics, have the conversations it needs to have and establish different ways of working together.
04 — EMBED
Return to work. Then return to the team.
After time to apply the team's commitments in practice, we reconvene for a follow-up day to examine what has changed, where old patterns have returned and what needs to be reinforced.
How the work unfolds
Our facilitated team interventions follow a deliberate progression, informed by Theory U and adapted through our experience of working with teams and organisational systems.
The process creates space for a team to move from connection and observation towards deeper dialogue, collective understanding and purposeful action.
CONNECT
Build the conditions for openness.
Create connection, psychological safety and the willingness to engage honestly with the work ahead.
COMMUNICATE
Surface what needs to be understood.
Bring different perspectives into the room, listen beyond familiar positions and make it possible to discuss what may normally remain unsaid.
PRESENCING
Step back to see the system.
Slow the instinct to move to solutions. Notice what is happening, question assumptions and see the team's dynamics — and each person's part in them — more clearly.
COLLABORATE
Turn understanding into shared responsibility.
Work across differences, challenge constructively and build greater collective ownership for how the team operates.
CREATE
Choose what happens next.
Translate insight into decisions, commitments and ways of working that strengthen the team's ability to perform together.
Teams often try to move too quickly from problem to solution. The deeper work happens when they create enough space to see the system they are trying to change — including their own role within it.
The process provides the structure. What happens within it is shaped by the team. We work with what emerges in the room, drawing on organisational psychology, systems thinking and expert facilitation to help the team make sense of its experience and decide what needs to change.
What begins to shift
The outcome isn't simply a team that understands itself better. The work is designed to change how the team operates together.
Greater collective awareness
A clearer understanding of the dynamics shaping the team and each person's contribution to them.
More honest dialogue
Greater capacity to surface differences, challenge assumptions and address issues before they become entrenched.
Stronger shared accountability
Less reliance on the leader to hold the team together and greater ownership for collective performance.
More productive relationships
The ability to work through tension and difference without allowing them to undermine trust or performance.
Clearer ways of working
Shared commitments about how the team will communicate, decide, challenge, collaborate and hold one another accountable.
Greater capacity to adapt
A team better able to notice when old patterns are returning and adjust before they become the default again.
